Our History
In 1987, Bob and Carrie Shields started a company called Precision Art and offered a DOS solution called “Office Visions” to the distribution industry. Through constant, ongoing, never-ending improvement, Office Visions popularity grew to nationwide sales by 1994. In fact, the original DOS program is still popular as many companies are still using the original version to run their distribution business.
In 2010, Visions Distribution Software, LLC was born. Research concluded that 75% of companies with less than 100 employees couldn’t afford a solution that truly fit their business so the decision was made to bring a completely new business model to market.
Visions was started with the mission to “Eliminate the high cost of software ownership”. This mission has been achieved by not charging for user licenses and expensive licensing fees each year. There are plans to soon release new features to make Visions software affordable for the entire business community.
Additionally, Visions also includes the core software source code written in industry standard PHP and MySQL, allowing for end-user modification if desired. Truly, Visions is eliminating the high cost of software ownership.
Visions installs on any web-server and operating system; i.e. Windows®; Linux®; and Macintosh®; offering secure, real-time access anywhere, anytime on any device. We do not require software to be installed as we run through a standard web browser.
Located in Austin Texas, Visions Distribution Software, LLC is a debt-free company. Bob Shields states, “Our determination to continue to be a privately held company has enabled us to have more freedom and greater flexibility. It gives us the liberty to focus single-mindedly on developing world-changing software.
